The vision statement of the department is:
“The Youth in Cook County are safe, drug-free,
healthy and knowledgeable.”
We will contribute to the fulfillment of this vision by:
Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart
is issuing this alert due to an
alarming increase in teen usage
within Cook County of the drug
commonly known as "Ecstasy"
and because of the recent
teenage deaths that have
occurred due to usage.

- Providing current and accurate information, through resources or direct service, within the following areas:
- Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Education
- Violence Prevention
- Youth Leadership
- Child Safety
- Developing relationships with Cook County schools in order to better serve youth coordinating special projects for youth participation and recognition
- Providing resources, when necessary, to other agencies, organizations and schools to encourage prevention and to develop a network of interested parties in the lives of youth
