MAN CHARGED IN FORD HEIGHTS

—Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced that a 21-year-old man has been charged in an armed robbery that at occurred at a Ford Heights gas station parking lot.
About 9 p.m. on Feb. 22, a 23-year-old woman was getting into her car at a gas station at 1620 East Lincoln Highway when a man approached her. She was about to shut the car door when the offender pulled the door opened and pointed a silver colored handgun at her.
The man pressed the gun to the victim’s ribcage and demanded her phone. He then took her purse while keeping the gun pressed against the victim. After telling the victim to drive away and not say anything, the man left the gas station in a vehicle.
During their investigation, Sheriff’s Police detectives were able to identify a suspect. Montez Fulwiley was arrested without incident Feb. 24 in Hazel Crest.
Fulwiley appeared in bond court Wednesday at the Markham Courthouse, where he was charged with armed robbery and vehicular invasion. His bond was set at $300,000.
Fulwiley’s next scheduled court appearance is March 20 in Markham.
