Thursday, January 15, 2015An investigation by the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Child Exploitation Unit and the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force led to the arrest of a 19-year-old man for possession and dissemination of child pornography, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced today.

Kaillif AmmenKaillif Ammen of Burbank was taken into custody on Tuesday at his home. He received a $300,000 bond during a court appearance on Wednesday at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

On Sept. 9, 2014 a federal search warrant was executed at Ammen’s residence after investigators learned that Ammen had shared more than a 1,000 photos and approximately 200 videos of child pornography with someone in Texas. That person actually was an undercover FBI agent.

Computers were seized from Ammen’s residence that were then forensically reviewed by the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Child Exploitation Unit and the Regional Computer Forensics Lab. Thousands of images of child pornography were found on those computers, images that included infants and young children.

The FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force includes FBI agents, officers from the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department, Chicago Police Department, Sycamore Police Department and members of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Sheriff Dart reminds the public that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty by the government in a court of law.
