SHERIFF’S POLICE ISSUE NEARLY 60 TICKETS DURING SCHAUMBURG
SAFETY CHECK

Wednesday, September , 2009 — Cook County Sheriff’s Police issued 58 tickets during a random roadside safety check in Schaumburg, according to the office of Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.

   The safety check took place Saturday night, September 5th , between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. in the 2300 block of North Meacham Road.  In all 1,788 vehicles passed through the checkpoint and 596 were stopped and screened by Sheriff’s Police.

   Among the tickets issued include two for DUI, two for revoked/suspended license, 25 for no insurance, and numerous tickets for other offenses such as seatbelt and equipment violations.

   The Sheriff’s Random Roadside Safety Check Program is conducted regularly across Cook County in an effort to promote safe driving.
