—Two men have been charged with aggravated battery for breaking a 62-year-old Franklin Park man’s jaw after he moved a bicycle at Leyden Township gas station, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said today.
At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 7, a man yelled at the victim for moving a bicycle that was blocking the entrance of the gas station store located in the 2400 block of Mannheim Road.
After he left the store, the two men who initially yelled at the victim punched the victim in the face and the body. The pair fled the scene on their bicycles before Cook County Sheriff’s Police officers arrived.
During their investigation, Sheriff’s Police Detectives identified two suspects. Gregory Miller, 19, of Bellwood, was arrested on Friday in Franklin Park. Danny Striblin, 18, also of Bellwood, was arrested on Saturday in Melrose Park.
The men were charged with aggravated battery/bodily harm to a person over sixty years of age, a felony. They appeared in bond court on Sunday where they each received bonds of $50,000. Their next court date is Aug. 20 at Maywood Courthouse.
Sheriff Dart reminds the public that the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty by the government in a court of law.
