MILITARY VETERANS AND COLLEGE GRADUATES AMONG NEW OFFICERS

—One current and one former member of the United States Navy, a former Marine, a former Coast Guard member and former soldier in the Army are among the 24 cadets set to graduate from the Cook County Sheriff’s Training Academy today. This will mark the beginning of their law enforcement careers as Correctional Officers based at the Cook County Department of Corrections.
Sheriff Thomas J. Dart will preside over the ceremony which is set for 2 p.m. today at the Fine and Performing Arts Center located on the Moraine Valley Community College Campus in Palos Heights.
Of the 24 cadets in this graduating class, numerous have bachelor’s degrees and one has a Master’s Degree. Degrees include criminal justice, mortuary science, the arts, television and radio, a double major in criminal justice and political science, a Master’s Degree in education and a graduate from the South Suburban College Fire Academy.
