Home > Press Page

Wednesday, February 27, 2013A 46-year-old man was charged today with felony home invasion for forcibly entering a home, injuring a woman, and then ripping out a telephone line as she tried to call for help, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said.

Ralph GrajekRalph Grajek, of Orland Park, appeared in bond court today in Bridgeview where his bond was set at $200,000.

Around 12:45 a.m. on Feb. 17, Sheriff’s police received a call that Grajek had forced his way inside a home, and struck the woman in the face several times. As the woman tried to dial 911, Grajek ripped the telephone line from the wall. He then fled in a black GMC Jimmy.

Since the incident, Sheriff’s Police Detectives searched for Grajek. On Feb. 25, detectives arrested him in Chicago Ridge without incident.

Grajek’s next court date is scheduled for April 1 in Bridgeview.
