DOLTON MAN ARRESTED FOR INVOLUNTARY SEXUAL SERVITUDE OF A MINOR
Sunday, June 2, 2013
—Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced today that a 22-year-old man has been charged with involuntary sexual servitude of a minor and trafficking in persons following a joint operation with Lansing Police to combat prostitution in the south suburbs.
Guillaume Thomas, of Dolton, received a $1 million bond during his court appearance on Saturday.
Thomas was arrested on the night of May 29 during a sting operation conducted at a Lansing hotel by the Sheriff’s Vice Unit and Lansing Police officers. Officers learned that Thomas was involved with a female juvenile’s prostitution activity when she arrived to the hotel in response to undercover officers calling an ad they saw on Backpage.com.
The victim has since been reunited with her family and was referred to services through the Sheriff’s Women’s Justice Programs.
Thomas’ next court appearance is scheduled for June 4th at the Markham Courthouse.
Sheriff Dart reminds the public that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty by the government in a court of law.
