MASS AND TOYS TO AIDE FR. MALLETTE AT
ST. MARGARET OF SCOTLAND

Home > Press Page

Tuesday, December 20, 2011 —Hundreds of toys have been collected by Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart’s Office, the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP)-Chicago Lodge 7, and Walgreens with the help of State Representative Bill Cunningham. The toys are being donated to students of St. Margaret of Scotland Grammar School, according to Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.

There will be an all-school mass celebrated with Father Daniel Mallette on Tuesday, December 20th at 8:30am. Following mass Father will pass out toys to the pre-kindergarten through 3rd grade students in the church.  St. Margaret’s church is located at 9837 S. Throop Street in Chicago.

“Because Father has been recovering the last couple weeks and has not had time to go out and do his annual shopping, we thought we could help him just as he has helped so many in the community,” said Sheriff Tom Dart, “Tuesdays Christmas celebration includes Father doing what he does best, going mass and giving back to the community, and I could not think of a better medicine for his recovery.”
