SHERIFF DART CALLS FOR PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE IN MISSING PERSON’S CASE

Wednesday, June 5, 2013Cook County Sheriff’s Police are investigating the disappearance of a 68-year-old mentally ill woman who has been missing since May 9, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said today.

Marcella SomervilleMarcella Somerville, originally of South Carolina, traveled to the Maine Township area to visit her Glenview-based sister. Somerville, who is diagnosed with schizophrenia, became upset when told she eventually would need to return home to South Carolina. She then fled the house and has not been seen since.

Somerville, who is unfamiliar with the area, left without a vehicle or a cell phone. She possessed $300 in cash at the time of her disappearance. She is suspected to have headed to a local homeless shelter or a train station.
