NEIGHBORHOOD ALERT ISSUED AFTER ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION

Wednesday, March 24, 2010 — Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart has issued a neighborhood alert in the LaGrange Highlands area, after a man attempted to abduct a 4-year-old girl on Tuesday.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. in the 5800 block of Sunset Street in unincorporated LaGrange. The girl said a man in a light blue or light color SUV attempted to lure her into his vehicle by offering her candy. Her 6-year-old brother then came outside, saw him, and the man drove away.

The man is described as being white, clean shaven, with short brown or black hair.
