MAN CHARGED FOR PROMOTING PROSTITUTION
Friday, September 27, 2013
—A 25-year-old Maine Township man has been charged with promoting prostitution, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said today.
Nabil Anas is scheduled to appear for a bond hearing this morning at the Skokie Courthouse.
Cook County Sheriff’s Police began their investigation Sept. 23 after receiving information that Anas had provided an 18-year-old Palos Park woman with cocaine and had prostituted her several times during the last several weeks in Schiller Park, Skokie, and Glenview to earn money to buy drugs and pay for their motel rooms.
During the investigation, detectives learned that Anas provided a motel room for the victim to practice prostitution and that the victim gave him money she was paid for performing sex acts.
Anas and the victim initially communicated online and met in person for the first time on Aug. 8. The prostitution began days after they met, according to the investigation.
Anas was taken into custody on Sept. 24. He was charged with one felony count of promoting prostitution on Sept. 26.
Anas also has an arrest warrant from Louisiana for narcotics delivery.
Sheriff Dart reminds the public that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty by the government in a court of law.
