SUBURBAN MAN CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A CHILD

Home > Press Page

Friday, March 5, 2010 — Bond was set Friday at $100,000 for a Des Plaines man who is accused of repeatedly molesting a child for years, possibly a decade, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said.

Christopher JohnsonChristopher Johnson, 43, of the 9400 block of Bay Colony Drive, was arrested Wednesday on one count each of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse for acts committed upon a child known to him. This marks the second time in 10 years he has faced these allegations.

Cook County Sheriff’s investigators learned of the incidents after a complaint was filed with state officials. Multiple witnesses made notice when they became aware of the abuse.

When questioned by investigators, the victim in this case confirmed Johnson was committing those acts. Johnson was later questioned by police and admitted to the acts.

In 2000, Johnson was arrested by Chicago Police for sexually assaulting a young child known to him. He was not found guilty of that charge.

Due to Johnson’s profession, Cook County investigators are now broadening their investigation in an effort to determine whether there are other victims. He has worked as a patient care technician and as a physical therapy aide at hospitals and clinics in the northwest suburbs.

Anyone who may be aware of Johnson interacting with juveniles should notify investigators at 708-865-4896.

Johnson is now being held in the Cook County Jail. His next court date is set for March 17 in Skokie
