WORTH MAN CHARGED WITH
INJURING MOTHER, KILLING DOG
Tuesday, June 3, 2014 — A 35-year-old Worth man has been charged with injuring his mother and killing his mother’s dog, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said today.
Christopher Krentkowski has been charged with two counts of aggravated domestic battery and one count of aggravated animal cruelty. He received a $125,000 bond during his court appearance on Monday at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
It is alleged that at approximately 8:30 p.m. on May 31, Krentkowski dragged his mother’s 15-year-old dog out of a bedroom in the 11700 block of South Ridgeland Avenue in unincorporated Worth and began to kick it. When his 53-year-old mother told Krentkowski to stop, he tried to strangle her and struck her head with a bookcase, injuring her, according to the Sheriff’s Police investigation.
Krentkowski then continued to physically assault the dog, causing its death, according to the investigation.
Krentkowski was arrested on Sunday.
His next court date is scheduled for June 26 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
Sheriff Dart reminds the public that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty by the government in a court of law.
