Mission Statement:

The mission of the Audit and Inspection Unit is to help CCSO managers meet their performance, compliance and fiscal goals. Meeting those important goals will allow CCSO to provide the best possible service to our employees and the public. Our mission is accomplished through the use of the unannounced review, audit and inspection process.

Background:

The Sheriff’s Audit and Inspection Unit (SAIU) was created in February 2013. SAIU is a team from different areas within CCSO who bring their experience and expertise to the unannounced review, audit and inspection process. SAIU is responsible for conducting unannounced reviews, audits for compliance, performance and fiscal responsibility along with inspections of policy/procedure, critical incidents or any special project within the CCSO. The results of those unannounced reviews, audits and inspections are reported to the Executive Office and used to improve the important services CCSO provides to our employees and the public.
